Account Deletion and Data Retention

Deleting an account

When accounts are enabled, an account holder may request deletion through account settings or by emailing privacy@wikihere.com from the registered address. WikiHere may verify identity before acting.

Deletion ends access and removes or de-identifies profile information where reasonably possible. Public contributions may remain as part of the page and revision record, associated with a deleted-user label or retained account identifier where legally permitted.

Retention periods

• Pending and rejected contributions: retained as needed for review, abuse prevention, disputes, and improvement of moderation decisions, then deleted or de-identified when no longer needed.
• Accepted revisions and moderation records: retained for page integrity, rollback, accountability, and dispute handling.
• Security and access logs: retained for a limited period based on operational and security need, unless an incident or legal obligation requires longer retention.
• Support, correction, privacy, and legal correspondence: retained while the request is active and afterward as needed to document the response and comply with law.
• Backups: removed through the normal backup rotation and not restored except for disaster recovery or security needs.

Legal and safety exceptions

WikiHere may retain limited information when reasonably necessary to meet legal obligations, establish or defend claims, prevent repeat abuse, protect users, or preserve the integrity of accepted revision history.
